OzBookings respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
1. Information we collect
- Account details: your name and email when you create a free account.
- Booking details: guest names, contact email, stay dates, and the property you book, needed to confirm your reservation.
- Saved trips: properties you save while signed in.
- Usage data: basic analytics such as pages viewed and searches, used to improve the service.
We do not store full card numbers on our servers. Payments and card handling are processed by our booking and payment partners.
2. How we use your information
- To process and confirm your bookings and send booking-related messages.
- To provide member pricing, saved trips, and faster checkout.
- To provide customer support and respond to enquiries.
- To maintain, secure, and improve the service.
3. Who we share it with
We share only what is necessary to deliver your booking:
- Accommodation suppliers via our distribution partner LiteAPI (Nuitee), to confirm and fulfil your reservation with the property.
- Service providers who host and power the site, including Supabase (accounts and database) and Vercel (hosting).
- Legal: where required by law or to protect our rights.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Storage and security
Account data is stored with Supabase, protected by row-level security so each account can access only its own data. We use encryption in transit (HTTPS) and reputable infrastructure providers. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
5. Cookies
We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember your search, and limited analytics to understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
6. Overseas disclosure
Some of our providers and accommodation suppliers operate outside Australia, so your information may be processed overseas as part of delivering a booking. We take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with this policy.
7. Data retention
We keep booking records for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
8. Your rights
You can request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account. Email support@ozbookings.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.
